French Lessons
I don’t live in Paris, I have not seen the city or its loveliness in real but always looked up on it with adoration. But that doesn’t make me a total stranger to the land, I identify myself with the people, their culture and literature and therefore it makes me both angry and sad that, today, Paris is conveniently the ‘city of terror’. Like the aftermath of every other terror attack, I saw plenty of responses flowing form all possible angles- people screening their protest, leaders coming out with more promises, some crying and praying and few others unemotional. Observing the reactions felt like, basically we are all human and I think I go with my friend who says “what the world needs today is a great big group hug”. The atomization of terror has resulted in a lot of outsourcing which dream of a theocratic utopian totalitarianism and its threatening. Since Charlie Hebdo in January, it has turned into Global terror and it is idiotic to think that our governments will essentially 'protect' everyone, see the recent Paris attack, they used only soft targets and its humanly not possible to "protect all" and it is extremely stupid for the governments to ask people to 'stay at home' (Oh common! For how long?) moreover they created the radicals and now they are limiting people's right to free travel. Ok, lets not play the blame game. The most upsetting reality is we don’t learn from our mistakes and I think the lessons should begin at least now!
Lesson 1: Ban the weapon industry.
It’s suicidal to think of ‘waging war against terror’ in the 3rd millennium if you think you are a part of the so called ‘civil society’ (“How can you have a war on terrorism when war itself is terror?” - Howard Zinn) and I was surprised to see Mr Hollande vow that France will to be “ruthless” in its response to terror and the bombing-game has already began. We do not want a third world war and if it happens then it is certainly the end of planet Earth. For peaceful coexistence I think our governments should start thinking of banning all weapon industries (better start off by destroying all those deadly nuclear weapons, wakeup ICAN) and it is insane and selfish to be appropriately blind to such ideas for being world superpower and wrongly convincing people on the notions of territorial security. Paradoxically countries spend more of their money on defence contractors than human capital. Weapons and its intolerable effects that pose threat to both nature and human beings should be forbidden.
Lesson 2: Think before you blame.
If you look at the history of many terror organisations, they were not initially instigated by a religion (like how most people look at it today, but there are always exceptions and I absolutely understand the current rise of religious extremism). Most of them started off as resistance movements stimulated by corrupt governance, superpower interventions, unequal global wealth distribution and obtuse geographical invasions. The resistance movements after failed attempts and futility got metamorphosed into violent struggles and then became ideological and took their dream forward of creating a ‘noble-state’, irony is rival nations and some psychopaths play the game, they fund such organisations and help them grow into massive terror outlets (it started from Beirut in the 80s, remember?) Importantly we must not call any particular religion or its followers to take a collective responsibility for the actions of few.Corruption and authoritarianism, be it anywhere in the world, it should be handled accurately, if the natives cannot handle it, I think international community (not puppets) should take responsibility and act and please do not vote for criminals.
Lesson 3: Hell with segregation.
We should teach people (especially children) to love and not to segregate, we should teach them to accept another person and to be empathetic, we should teach them tolerance and respect. I break my head and think what technique these terror outlets use to brainwash young men to blast themselves, think of using the same technique to love people with the same burning passion. If you are not some piece of shit (you heard it right!) I think you should be friends with both an old man and a child, mongoloid and caucasoid , a religious man and an atheist, Asian and European, homosexual and heterosexual, poor and rich; talk, travel together, laugh and celebrate life. Hell with all the segregation!
